STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS

Structural analysis is the process of determining the forces encountered by civil engineering structures that are subjected to various types of loading, such as dead, live, wind, snow, and seismic loads. Structural analysis is a basic type of FEA that is typically used on a bigger scale. We may design our components to accomplish safety and cost savings by understanding the stresses and deformations in our structure. We will do the hard work of structural analysis using FEM so you can design safe and cost-efficient structures.

STRESS ANALYSIS

Stress analysis is a vast group of problems that encompasses almost all aspects of finite element analysis, with the goal of determining if a part is robust enough to withstand stresses. Basic stress analysis applies to a wide range of civil engineering structural components.

THERMAL ANALYSIS

In many problems arising from structural and mechanical situations, components are subject to combined thermal-mechanical effects. A brake rotor being engaged will generate heat from friction, leading to a temperature increase in the component. A bridge girder being heated from the top by solar radiation will bend upwards due to uneven temperature distribution. Thermal effects may induce significant stresses on a component if the material is sensitive to temperature variations.

DYNAMIC ANALYSIS

Dynamic analysis is used to solve problems involving time-varying loads and effects. This type of analysis might be required, for example, if a building was experiencing seismic ground shaking and needed to assess the fluctuation of structural forces over time. Because high impulsive pressures are applied during a short period of time, a crashworthiness test of a vehicle against a wall is a dynamic event. Dynamic analyses require a long time in FEA because of the severe non-linearities that are present.
